Unlike other auction sites, lcscauction.com does not charge an insertion fee,
reserve fee, or listing fee. If your item sells a flat 5% fee is
charged to your account. If your item does not sell you pay nothing.
Where
does the 5% fee go?
The fee goes to the LCSC Web Development Club to maintain
this site and other club projects.
How do I pay the fee?
Each month your club or business will receive
an invoice from the LCSC Web Development Club. Payment can be returned
by check or money order made out to the LCSC Web Development Club.
How do I post my item?
If this is your first time selling on
lcscauction.com you will need to open a new account and receive
a password. All new accounts must be approved by the Auction
Master. Once your account has been established you can monitor your
postings or add a new item by using the Log In button on any page.
What
do I need to post an item?
-
You will need to include a good picture of the item. Make
sure you
edit the picture before posting your item. Do you need tips on taking
pictures of your item?
-
You will also need to include a title and description of your item.
The title is what catches the attention of a potential buyer. Make
sure your title accurately represents the item. Read
tips on how to
write a description for your item.
-
Advertise! Advertise
your items. Flyers, emails, word of mouth, etc.
lcscauction.com does some of the work for you through campus wide emails, newspaper, radio, and television commercials, but we need your help. Every seller that advertises the auction site brings in potential customers for you.
Once you have received your password, you can post as many items as you wish.
We recommend staggering items, posting a few new items a week, and keeping
the auction length relatively short to generate frequent visits to the
site.
